A year in two stages for Procam. At the beginning of the year, the projects were few and far between because of the economic situation which affected the commercial sector, resulting in many renovations during this period, including renovations to the Wal-Mart’s in the Quebec and Côte-Nord region, followed by several Super C renovations in the Montreal area. With the arrival of summer, Procam started filling in its order book; beginning with two new Metro Plus supermarkets in Chicoutimi and St-Émile. Several weeks later, we began the construction of a Réno-Dépôt in Vaudreuil and a new McDonald restaurant in Lasalle. Wal-Mart permitted us to end the year with a bang by granting us the construction of two of the first “Super Center " in Quebec; Mascouche and Laval-West. The construction of Jean Coutu pharmacies in Repentigny and Longueuil, as well as some construction projects in the Quartier Dix30, completed a well filled year.
Due to the slowing down of the economy, the projects were less frequent for Procam. Nonetheless, we did several renovation projects for Metro Richelieu Inc. and The Group Jean Coutu (PJC) Inc. Some new constructions were also made during that year, of which, among others, the Jean Coutu Pharmacy in Chambly, a Canadian Tire in Mont-Laurier and a Pharmaprix in Vanier, Quebec.
Several new customers granted us contracts, including, our first Pharmaprix in Beauport, a RBC Bank in Beaconsfield, a Jysk in Ste-Foy and a McDonald restaurant in Sherbrooke. We renovated two Costco stores-warehouses, built two new Metro Plus located in Beaconsfield and Beloeil and renovated a few Super C’s. Several Jean-Coutu pharmacies got a facelift; Boucherville, Chateauguay, Côte-St-Luc and a new construction in Ste-Agathe-des-Monts. We made an extension at the Rona in St–Hyacinthe and continued the construction of some buildings in the Quartier Dix30 in Brossard.
We realized a very flourishing year with the construction of three new Wal-Mart stores in Gatineau, Lachenaie and in the Quartier Dix30 in Brossard (a unique concept in Quebec). Still in the Quartier Dix30, we built a new Canadian Tire, a Gold’s Gym Prestige, an innovative high technology gym, as well as some retail stores. We built our first Rousseau Sport store in Charlemagne and renovated several Jean-Coutu pharmacies in various areas in the province of Quebec. We also built a new Canadian Tire store in Pointe-Aux-Trembles as well as a Familiprix in Rivière-des-Prairies.
We obtained the contract for the construction of four stores on the pedestrian walkway of the first phase of the prestigious Quartier Dix30 project in Brossard for the Devimco promoters. A new Canadian Tire store was also built in Cowansville with a tenant: L’Équipeur. We built two new Wal-Mart stores in Magog and Vaudreuil. Several new projects were added, notably in the grocery industry, two new IGA supermarkets, one in Auteuil-Laval and the other in Rivière-des-Prairies for the Sobeys company. As for the renovation section, several Jean-Coutu pharmacies in the Montreal suburb were remodeled. Metro Richelieu gave us the mandate to renovate its warehouse in Boucherville as well as the construction of two new Super C’s in the Mauricie region.
The Devimco company gave us the mandate to build a new building in the Mega-Centre in Ste-Dorothée, in addition to those already built by Procam in 2005. Wal-Mart entrusted us with the set up of two new stores in St-Eustache and Laval-East as well as the renovation of two of their existing stores. The promotor Smart Centre granted us the contract for the construction of the IGA in Laval-East. We also built many new stores, such as: a Super C in Neufchâtel, a Wal-Mart in Charny and a fifth phase to the Carrefour Bourgeois in St-Amable. We reconstructed the interior design of three Bureau en Gros in Montreal, en extension of 30,000 sq.ft for the Rona in Granby and did major renovations of the Metro in the Plaza Tracy in Sorel-Tracy. Finally, Rona entrusted us with the contract for the expansion of their Distribution Centre in Boucherville, calculated at +/-250,000 sq.ft.
